About Independence National Historical Park

The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education and inspiration of this and future generations. The Park Service cooperates with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world. It is the mission of Independence National Historical Park to preserve, manage, operate, maintain, protect and interpret park resources significantly associated with the American Revolution and the establishment of the United States of America in order to perpetuate these resources and to help all people understand the people, events, and ideas associated with the park’s tangible resources.
