At the Aleph Bet Academy, we believe that children guide us just as we guide them. To that end, we encourage their natural inclination to explore, focus and engage with others and their natural envionrment. We provide them with specific limits (space, time, individuals, language, etc.) within which they are given the freedom to explore. Within those specific boundaries, children develop a sense of self-reliance while still developing social and emotional skills with individual children and as a whole group.
Much thought and effort is put into the environment, curriculum and language of the classroom. The Aleph Bet Academy sews together aspects of several early childhood approaches, hand picking each value for the dynamic road that lead to personal and educational success of our young students.
Environmentally ABA employs elements from the Montessori approach, making materials and games independently accessible in order for the child to internalize a feeling of empowerment, self-reliance and unobstructed exploration. In this environmental approach, children are given freedom within specific boundaries (space and/or time limits). The Montessori environment helps the child develop an understanding of structure and order, and the independence that he/she has within that framework.
Great emphasis is put on a clean, predictable, clearly-marked environment where children can learn in calm and safe surroundings. The environment is kept tranquil, harmonious and whenever possible, natural. Children are encouraged to explore nature, taking them outdoors often so they may explore different materials, as well as bring them into the classroom.
