Boys & Girls Harbor

The mission of Boys & Girls Harbor is to empower children and their families to become full, productive participants in society through education, cultural enrichment, and social services. Boys & Girls Harbor is a place in Harlem where young minds see a future for themselves and a world they never imagined. We identify the inherent gifts of young people and nurture them. We develop their intellectual character and expose them to experiences that help them discover their real potential. We give them a sense of place in the world — in the greatest city in the world. And it begins at the Heckscher Building, a vibrant hub for education and the arts. The Harbor is an education-focused organization committed to providing an Individual Learning Plan for every Harbor student to assure comprehensive academic training and emotional development, enriched by infusing the arts into our culture and curriculum. We help give Harlem kids perspective beyond a 10-block knowledge.
