The museum's galleries in Minneapolis are closed to the public after December 31, 2016 to prepare to move Minnesota's official natural history museum to its new home on the St. Paul campus. The new Bell Museum + Planetarium opens in summer 2018. As Minnesota's state natural history museum, the mission is to ignite curiosity and wonder, explore connections to nature and the universe, and create a better future for our evolving world.
