Follow the footsteps of Southern author, Margaret Mitchell, where she wrote the Pulitzer-Prize winning book, Gone With the Wind. The Margaret Mitchell House is located at Atlanta History Center's Midtown campus approximately 5 miles South down Peachtree Street.
The building is a turn-of-the-century, three-story, Tudor Revival building and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Margaret Mitchell House provides an apt setting for learning about Mitchell's motives for writing the novel and the lifestyle she lived with her husband, John Marsh, in 1920s Atlanta.
