The Brandywine Zoo is part of the Delaware State Parks and is managed by the Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society.
The purpose of the Brandywine Zoo and the Delaware Zoological Society, Inc. is to professionally exhibit specific species of animals and provide a comprehensive program of conservation, education and recreation to the citizens of the State of Delaware and the Brandywine Valley.
The mission and goals of the Brandywine Zoo can be attained only through the joint efforts of the public and private sectors. The Society provides the opportunity for active citizen participation to insure the integrity of the zoo as a permanent public resource.
