About New Castle Historical Society

The New Castle Historical Society preserves & operates three historic buildings for guided tours for individuals and groups. The Society also maintains archives, publishes books and hosts exhibits, programs, & lectures on New Castle History. Established in 1934, the New Castle Historical Society celebrates 80 years of historic preservation in 2014. The New Castle Historical Society operates three museums in Delaware’s First Capital – The Amstel House, The Dutch House, and the Old Library Museum - in addition to the New Castle Visitor Center at The Arsenal.
