The Hartford Base Ball Grounds at Colt Meadows is located at the corner of Hendricxsen Avenue and Curcombe Street in the southeastern corner of Colt Park in Hartford. The open field was designated in 2009 as the site on which historically-accurate 19th century base ball events would be played, using the rules, customs, costumes and equipment of the 1800s. The events take place on an open field and visitors are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, a picnic lunch and sunscreen in order to enjoy the bucolic atmosphere of the location.
